Lecture Series Grants

BASIC REQUIREMENTS

Academic institutions in Asia-Pacific Region are invited to apply, individually or collaboratively, for funding from the Foundation under the newly created Lecture Series program (CCK Lecture Series). These grants will support lectures by distinguished scholars at the sponsoring institutions. It is expected that six or more lectures open to the public will be held as a part of a series, with the duration of each project lasting from one to three years. The Foundation expects that the contents of these lectures will be published. The grant covers transportation costs, honoraria, and stipends for all lecturers, but not publication costs. In special cases, costs for promotion and some travel expenses for out-of-town students may be considered. The maximum amount of each grant is US$25,000.

All applications must include the following items:

  1. Project abstracts (in Chinese and English).
  2. A detailed itemized budget (If this sum is to be supplemented by matching funds, please include this information in the budget).
  3. A description of the proposed project of no more than 7 pages in length.
  4. Curriculum vitae of the project director, all co-directors and invited scholars, including lists of publications over the last five years that are related to the proposed project.
  5. General title of the lecture series, as well as titles of the individual lectures.
  6. Scheduled time and place of the lectures.
  7. Estimates of attendance.
  8. Publication plan.
  9. Endorsement letter from the applicant(s) and participating institution(s).
